Here you are in "the place where there is only one inhabitant left"! Soulomès would have had only one inhabitant after the Hundred Years' War. The history of the commune is the history of man. The electrification of the village in 1995 led to the discovery of a 9th century necropolis, attesting to the human presence at that time. In 1160 a commandery of the Order of the Temple was created in Soulomès. One can still admire there vestiges adjoining the church of Sainte-Madeleine. Dating from the 12th century, the Gothic-style building initially depended on the abbey of Marcilhac-sur-Célé before being ceded to the Order of Saint John of Jerusalem.
