Lauzun is a small town where, as you stroll along, you'll discover harmoniously restored streets, an essentially Gothic church with rich furnishings, old and stylish houses - including one with caryatids - and the charm of alleyways inherited from a medieval past. Lauzun boasts a remarkable ducal château built in the 16th century. The Duc de Lauzun was a scandal during the reign of Louis XIV. Favored then disgraced at the Sun King's court, he spent time in the Bastille and then the fortress of Pignerol, where his neighbors included Fouquet and the Iron Mask... He eventually married Anne d'Orléans, the king's cousin, known as the grande Mademoiselle.
