The origins of the village go back to the Gallo-Roman period, but it developed essentially in the 12th century. A priory was built and then houses were built all around. Thus was born the village which became one of the first "sauvetés" in Agen under the protection of the Catholic Church. The history of La Sauvetat-de-Savères is also marked by a painful ordeal. On June 7, 1944, the Nazis executed 11 people there. Located on the right bank of the Petite Séoune, the village offers many testimonies of the past: bread oven, wash house... The life of yesteryear is also evoked thanks to its museum of fibers and textiles and the life of the farmer.
