Estillac is different from all the other towns you can visit. It has an upper and a lower part. It is in this upper part of the town that the heritage is to be found: it is here that the castle of Blaise de Monluc was built, where the leader of the Catholic armies spent the last years of his life. The church of Saint-Jean-Baptiste has a typical wall belfry of those built here. Estillac is on one of the routes to Santiago de Compostela. The departmental officials have imagined the creation of an agropole, a business park for companies belonging to the food industry.
