On the commune of Tauriac-de-Naucelle is the viaduct of Viaur, a railway work of art, completed in 1902 and classified with the historical monuments. It spans the Viaur valley, between Taunus and Tauriax-de-Naucelle. Designed by the engineer Paul Bodin, this bridge of 460 m long and rising to 116 m high, was intended to connect Rodez and Toulouse by train. Unique in its kind, it was built with a totally new technique: that of balanced arches. The central arch can thus deform freely under the influence of the weight of the trains, and the variations of temperatures or wind.
