It is here that the wild child, "Victor de l'Aveyron" was discovered. In 1800, villagers discovered a deaf and mute child, who had taken refuge in one of the houses in the village, but was living in the woods. On the other hand, Saint-Sernin conceals architectural treasures inherited from the Middle Ages, when the village was a real stronghold. Saint-Sernin is home to a listed historic town, a collegiate church dating back to 1442, a town hall and 15th century houses with mullioned windows... and of course the famous "carrierots", these small streets that run down to the Rance and Merdanson rivers. Without forgetting a stone-menhir which has become famous and decorated by artists.
