The village of Roquecourbe is perched on one of the hills overlooking the river Agout, about ten kilometres from Castres. Typical of the department, it has a network of old corbelled streets, a stone bridge - rebuilt in the 14th century after the drowning of one of the sons of Eleonore de Montfort (the chatelaine) - which links the castle to the village, an old wash-house and a pretty covered square. Nearby, the ruins of the 13th century castle are worth a visit. From the village, it is also possible to reach the Sainte-Juliane excavations, by taking the direction of Lacrouzette.
