Since the 11th century, this small village has linked the Haut Conflent with the Capcir via the Col de la Quillane. Surrounded by forests and dominated by its fortified church and signal tower, the village grew up around these two buildings. The presbytery still bears traces of the old castle. At the Col de la Quillane, there's a small ski resort and an airfield. From the village, you can also go hiking and reach the Lac des Bouillouses, a real jewel in the Pyrenees. For the record, La Llagonne is a land of sportsmen and women: Simon and Martin Fourcade were born here and often come to the village.
