Bolquere is a pleasant mountain village of 700 inhabitants, situated between Mont-Louis and Font-Romeu. There are many examples of the traditional cerdan habitat. Served by the small yellow train, its small railway station is the highest in France, more than 1 600 metres above sea level. The railway route goes down to Saillagouse and the low plateau cerdan, which is beautifully dominated. It is from the small church of the village, perched on a rocky promontory, that the panorama reveals the most spectacular. The territory of the municipality is largely covered with forests, and it is filled with chalets and secondary residences. Bolquere is also - and above all - a beautiful summer/winter mountain resort. The Domaine Pyrénées 2000 Font-Romeu has 40 tracks for alpine skiing and 111 km of trails. A network of marked circuits is dedicated to fans of snowshoes. Accompagnateurs offer half-day, day and night outings. Two ski schools will hand you over. A bowling alley and a sports recreation complex are open all year round.
