This historic site of the Camisard War is home to an old silk spinning mill, which is still in good condition. In the center, the old houses are grouped on either side of the Gardon river. On a high terrace, the Romanesque church, built in schist, retains its character despite destruction and restoration. The temple has existed since 1560, making it the oldest in Lozère. Originally, it was a chapel dedicated to the Virgin Mary, built in 1063. After the revocation of the Edict of Nantes, it became a church again, before being burnt down by the Camisards. Sold as national property during the French Revolution, it was once again used for Protestant worship after the Concordat.
