Cans and Cevennes is a new municipality from the merger between Saint-Julien-d 'Arpaon and Saint-Laurent-de-Trêves. These former neighbors, now gathered, have a common DNA, built on a rich history and mountainous decor. These lands were trampled in the past by the Gauls and the Lord of Gabriac in the seventeenth century, but its most prestigious inhabitants remain the dinosaurs. In a site today protected and classified, we can discover traces that these giants left 190 million years ago. This municipality also has more modern monuments in the image of the decommissioned stations located between Saint-Julien and Cassagnas. The old railway line that connects Florac to the Nîmes-Paris line can be reached on foot. It is a beautiful walk between the schishy cliffs and the lively waters of the Mimente, which gives an idea of the impressive work done here at the beginning of the century.
