Between the Causse Méjean and the Can-de-l'Hospitalet, the charming village of Vébron stretches on a slope near the Tarnon. A little downstream, a large rock overlooking the river was cut to allow for the expansion of the road and bore the name of Rocky Rock. Legend tells us that, in the past, the fées were attracted to them by their melodious songs and then rush them into the river. In Salgas, north of Vébron, a castle was reconstructed on the site of the old castle of the Baron de Salgas, demolished by order of Louis XIV. The hapless baron was sentenced to galleys for complicity with camisards.
