Mialet, a small town located halfway between Anduze and Saint-Jean-du-Gard, was in the 19th century populated by more than 1,500 souls. The village, a symbol of Huguenot and Cévennes identity, is famous for its annual September gathering around the memory of the resistance of the Camisards. Nearby, in the Gardon de Mialet valley, is the Trabuc cave which was a refuge for many of them. At the lower limit of the Cévennes, Mialet is prized for its calm and the beauty of its landscapes. Especially in summer, locals and tourists alike enjoy bathing in the Gardon de Mialet and its refreshing waters!
