Gaujac boasts a rich history dating back to the Gauls. The Samnagenses tribe settled on the heights of Gaujac, whose oppidum became the site of a large open-air sanctuary. Even today, the ruins of temples, baths, porticoes and fortifications can be seen on the terraces, which cover almost twelve hectares and testify to the importance of the site. At the foot of the oppidum, your walks will take you to the Saint-Saturnin chapel, a fine 11th-century vestige. The château de Gaujac, with its 17th-century facades, remodeled in the 19th century, hosts numerous exhibitions.
