This small village between Vauvert and Générac is steeped in history. Originally called Tovana, in 973 this land became Bello Vicidum. In 1704, Beauvoisin was the scene of a riot during the Camisard revolt, and the church was set on fire. The temple, built in 1834 on the ruins of the church, has been a listed monument since 2012. The tradition of l'empègue (stencilling around house doors) dates back to the days of the conscripts. They collected money before leaving for the army, and thanked donors with this drawing. The oldest found dates back to 1894 and is located in Beauvoisin.
