In the heart of the Hautes Corbières, Villerouge-Termenès is a fine example of medieval Corbières architecture. Coveted by the Lords of Termes, it belonged to the Archbishops of Narbonne. From the sentry walk, you can appreciate the vastness of the landscape. The village's imposing castle dates back to the 12thcentury . In the castle hall, an audiovisual exhibition recounts the life of the last Parfait and the bishopric of Narbonne. Remains of note include the Porte Saint-Jean, the 12th-century Pont-Vieux, the medieval garden and the Church of Saint-Étienne, with its superb 16th-century altarpiece.
