This rural township in the countryside that unfolds typical Briard landscapes is criss-crossed with rus and dotted with many small ponds. Several hiking trails start from Neufmoûtier-en-Brie or pass through here (including the GR14) which allow you to enjoy this charming environment. It is a commune of a little more than a thousand inhabitants animated by many associations of "Neufmonastériens" and "Neufmonastériennes". You will find beautiful buildings, including castles among which a few offer guest rooms. The Domaine de Bellevue is also located in this commune, with a gastronomic restaurant and a charming wellness area. In terms of heritage, you can see the church of Saint-Leu-et-Saint-Gilles, built in the 13th century. It was rebuilt in 1749 and restored in 1879. There is also the Château du Chemin from the 19th century, owned by the Countess Stern Singer who donated it in the middle of last century after the death of her son due to tuberculosis, to a foundation of veterans in order to establish a sanatorium. The architect Louis Sainsaulieu was responsible for the construction of the FSEF - Fondation Santé des Étudiants de France -(Les Lycéens) clinic next to the castle, offering medical care and schooling on the same site. As for the beautiful neighbouring castle, made of stone and brick, it is mainly used as a set for filming. It was here that the singer Angèle chose to host her Anti-Sexism Academy - a re-education camp for macho men - which forms the central element of the video clip of her big hit with Pierre Niney Balance ton quoi.
