Beyond the legend of the goat who speaks and plays the claws of the wolf, the origin of the name Chanteloup probably comes from "canton of the wolf". The village dates back to the end of the th century. Over the years, the municipality has preserved its "green lung" represented by the 70 hectares of Chigny wood by creating a village centre around the church, town hall and conserving the briard style as faithfully as possible. A municipality that has maintained the rural character of a village despite its proximity to the new town of Marne-la-Vallée which influences its urban development.
