Vauhallan is a village of the Hurepoix whose heritage illustrates both its history and its rural traditions. In the Middle Ages, it comprised three fiefs (Vauhallan, Arpentis and Limonet and later Richeville), each linked to a castle and a farm. On the old Limon estate, one can see the Benedictine abbey of Saint-Louis-du-Temple. And, of the first church founded in the VIthc. you can discover the crypt accessible under the church of Saint-Rigomer-Sainte-Ténestine. This church was transformed into a chapel in the 11th century before being enlarged in the 13th, 17th and 19th centuries. From the rural past remain in particular the houses of wine growers, a wash-house, etc.
