The village, formerly called Favières, took its current name in the Middle Ages. It was then a great center of pilgrimage in Ile-de-France. People came from all over the kingdom to venerate the relics of Saint Sulpice, a 7th century bishop from Berry who, according to the legend, had resurrected a child drowned in the river. Three churches succeeded one another in these places, and this to face the progressive affluence of the faithful. The last one currently visible has a typical 13th century architecture as well as very beautiful glass windows. An enclave of history, spirituality and real countryside not far from the capital and which is really worth a visit.
