Chamarande is distinguished by its geographical situation since the Gallic era, located at the crossroads of the territory of three Gallic tribes, that of the Senons to the east, that of the Carnutes to the west and south, and that of the Parisii to the north, a configuration that continued in the Middle Ages, with three bishoprics: Sens, Chartres and Paris. It was not until 1685 that the village (formerly called Bonnes) took its present name. Today, it offers several sites for visits and walks: Saint-Quentin church from the 12th and 13th centuries, a 17th century castle with its 98 hectare park, its estate labeled "Remarkable Garden" as well as a cultural center for contemporary art
