A pretty village of 852 inhabitants, located 11 kilometers from Fécamp, the Cauchoise town is overlooked by an impressive castle built in the 10th century. It is a popular holiday destination for lovers of calm and serenity. It also inspired the painter Eugène Delacroix, who stayed here on several occasions. His painting Ruines de l'Abbaye de Valmont is now in the Louvre. In addition to the château, which is no longer open to the public, you can visit the Notre-Dame-du-Pré abbey, founded by Nicolas d'Estouteville in 1169, and take a pleasant stroll along the small coastal river of the Valmont at the Vivier promenade.
