Veules-en-Caux honored roses so much that it changed its name in 1897 to the one we know today. During the Romantic era, this picturesque place, with its mills, its 15th century church, its famous watercress beds and its tiny river, attracted summer visitors in search of calm and beauty. Among them, Victor Hugo is one of the most prestigious. The years have passed, but the charm remains: the discovery of Veules, its alleys and its gardens which are fragrant in the summer season, remains a delicious moment that one must take the time to savor. The town is also renowned for its unique oysters, which have been brought up to date.
