The site of the municipality was formed by the collapse of the Rhine ditch. This geological phenomenon explains why Gundershoffen's terrain is so diverse. Fishermen will be delighted by the Breitmatt and Hardt ponds. Gundershoffen is the only town in the canton to host virtually all religious denominations within its boundaries: a place of prayer for the Muslim faith, a Kingdom Hall for the Jehovah's Witnesses sect, the former oratory of the Methodist church, a Jewish cemetery with a synagogue, Protestant, Catholic and Charismatic monuments...
