Nestled in the Jura plain at the foot of Mont St. Catherine, the Bersaillin site was already visited at the Gallo-Roman period. In the Middle Ages there was a castle on the hill. The Castrale chapel was dedicated to Saint Catherine, which gave his name to the mount. The church of the th century houses a Burgundian art treasure: A tomb of Recumbent, a very typical white marble mausoleum. The village houses a beautiful castle.
