Arinthod (Cité de Caractère BFC), located in the south of the department, in the fertile Valouse valley in the heart of the Petite Montagne region with its superb, varied landscapes, is the perfect place to discover all the natural diversity of the Jura soil. These vast areas are protected under Natura 2000. The village dates back to ancient times, even to the Sequans. In the Middle Ages, the village belonged to the Chalon seigneury. The arcades give the town a very medieval charm, with a central square featuring a listed church and fountain. The centuries have left their traces, which you can discover on the Heritage Trail.
