At the foot of the Jura mountains, Frasne is a commune of the Doubs with many beautiful assets. It is crossed by the national road 471, and a Roman road used to pass nearby. Its railway complex now links France to Switzerland. For a long time, the village was under the control of the seigneury of La Rivière and the seigneury of Nozeroy for the water and forests. Frasne is home to the regional nature reserve of peat bogs, an exceptional environment. The peat bogs have been developed so that everyone can discover and appreciate their fauna and flora in complete safety. Also worth seeing are the chapels of Saint-Roch and Etang. One of the best Comté cheeses is made here.
