This pretty resort, situated at an altitude of around 900 meters, was founded half a century ago. A well-known mid-mountain ski resort throughout France, it has developed its summer tourism by becoming a popular destination for mountain bikers. Several international competitions, including a world championship, have already been held here. Every summer, a music festival is held here, featuring internationally renowned headliners. Métabief is also a gateway to Mont d'Or, the highest point of the Doubs, via Le Morond at 1,419 meters. Last but not least, Métabief is famous for its factory, a former mill that has been converted into a museum listed as a Historic Monument.
