Alando is a small Corsican mountain village at an altitude of 660 m. At the entrance of the village, you can admire a work of the sculptor Noël Bonard, known for the Christ King of the Vergio pass. It is the mythical Sambucuccio d'Alando, native of the village, who led a peasant revolt in 1358, and led the people to free themselves, at least for the most part, from the feudal hold of the lords. Worth seeing is the former convent of Alando dating from 1525, whose church has become a parish church, which houses a 17th-century painting depicting the holy family. You can also discover the rural chapel of San Sebastian and the ruins of the Romanesque chapel of Santa Maria.
