This premier cru village is located on the banks of the Marne on one side and at the foot of the abbey where Dom Pérignon lived. Its sunny situation allows it to have the earliest slopes of the Champagne region, the harvest generally starting from there. The 3 grape varieties, with a dominance of pinot noir, are cultivated here on 172 hectares of vines. The commune has 188 growers belonging to the biggest champagne houses. A walk along the banks of the Marne River will allow you to admire a series of hand-made steel sculptures by the Ardennes artist Eric Sléziak, representing the work of the vine and the elaboration of wine.
