In the 6th century, the lord of Pagus, Count Attila, donated the lands of Bouzy to Saint Basle. The best wines of Bouzy are found during the banquets served on the occasion of the coronations of the kings of France in Reims. Pinot noir is the "king of the soil" here, the most cultivated grape variety. With the Sun King, the fame of Bouzy spreads, Louis XIV indeed preferring the wine of Champagne to any other. The red Bouzy is an unknown wine, to be discovered absolutely, with a beautiful ruby color and minimal acidity. The village is classified Grand Cru since 1895! The Saint-Basle church is also worth a detour in this small picturesque village.
