Maire de Bouzy for 25 years, Georges Vesselle was also director of the vineyards, Perrier-Jouet Mumm and Heidsieck Monopole. Two of her children, Eric and Bruno, also about the vineyard, joined him in 1993. It is them that took over the family business with the death of their father in 2009. In the mountains of Reims, their vineyard extends over nearly 17 acres with grapes to Pinot Noir (90%) and chardonnay (10%). The wines are preserved in the cellars of the estate, carved in chalk with sixteen ft deep at a constant temperature of 10 °C. Welcomed on site, you can also taste the other house specialities, red Bouzy (only red Champagne wine produced) and Ratafia Liqueur.

We don't take you on a tour of the cellars, but we do explain the different stages in the winemaking process, using explanatory frames hung in the boutique. You will then be introduced to the House's cuvées, such as the "Grande Réserve Brut", made exclusively from cuvées of the Grand Cru de Bouzy, or the "Cuvée Edmond", a champagne commemorating the birth of the House. People come to the store to buy the original recipes for the company's products. With snails raised on site, four sizes are prepared in champagne court-bouillon or in less common preparations. A great local figure in Bouzy, Paul Louis Martin actively participated in the founding of the Bouzy cooperative. His son, Paul, helped him to dig their cellars. Today it is his daughter, Francine Martin, and his grandson, Vincent, who have taken over. The House produces a brut champagne that blends chardonnay and pinot noir, a Brut Grand Cru and also the Cuvée Vincent, a 100% chardonnay champagne. Authentic and generous wines in the image of this passionate family!

Located in Bouzy, this family business is now run by the^4th generation. The House's wines reflect the character of their terroir, thanks to a vineyard that has been carefully tended. The range includes 9 Champagne wines and a Bouzy red 2017. A particular favorite is the Cuvée Aura de Marius Grand Cru 2014, a deep, ripe and powerful 100% pinot noir; not forgetting Amour de Louise, an 8-vintage solera produced in 3,048 bottles. Epic!

On the prestigious Bouzy vineyard, Philippe Secondé, fifth generation of the Barnaut family, is a winemaker who pays great respect to the rhythms of the vine and careful vinification. The domaine produces a wide range of champagnes offering excellent value for money. The Grande Réserve Brut, made exclusively from the Grand Cru de Bouzy, and the rosé de saignée, an extra-brut champagne made from 90% pinot noir and 10% chardonnay, are particularly appealing, as is their excellent bouzy rosé. Tastings and tours of the Clos can be organized.

A house renowned and remarkable for the quality of its personalized cuvées, on an 11-hectare vineyard classified as Grand Cru, some parcels of which have been cultivated by the house for almost 250 years. Respect for the soil, control of yields, meticulous care in the elaboration of each cuvée on the beautiful terroirs of Bouzy, renowned for its pinots. The house also produces fine Blancs de blancs, Blancs de noirs and rosé champagnes.

Winemakers for 4 generations, it is today Jean-Baptiste Martin who holds the reins of the House. He works the vineyard in the purest respect of nature. The vineyard is located on a hillside and enjoys a favorable exposure, microclimate and soil that allow the wines to reach their full maturity. The Domaine offers you to discover its 5 champagnes, a sweet mix of authenticity and generosity, which transcribe the essence of the terroirs. We liked the Cuvée Vintage and the Brut Rose Gourmandise.

With grapes coming from the best vintages of the region (Aÿ, Bouzy, Verzenay), Brice champagnes have always offered a renowned style and quality. The 8 hectares of vineyards of the house supply a beautiful production of which 70% of the bottles are intended for export, on the great tables of the world and in the famous stores. If the Brice style did not exist, it would have to be invented as soon as possible, as it is so singular and generous, with a range of solid and lively wines, such as the Aÿ Grand Cru, the Bouzy Grand Cru or Cramant Grand Cru cuvées.

In the 16th^century , the Beaufort family was already cultivating vines in the region. In 1929, Marcellin and his son Herbert decided to start producing champagne. Today, Henry, Hugues and Ludovic have taken up the torch. The vineyard covers 16.50 hectares, mainly planted with Pinot Noir and supplemented with Chardonnay. Bouzy rouge, an elegant ruby-red wine, is carefully preserved in the subsoil for two years.

Champagne has been produced on this estate since 1925. Five generations of winemakers have succeeded one another in this vineyard in the Bouzy Grand Cru, which produces elegant, refined champagnes every year. Brut Tradition is a Pinot Noir-dominant blend of the year's harvest and reserve wine. It's a fresh, fruity wine, ideal as an aperitif. The Blanc de Noirs is a 100% pinot noir, with a full-bodied character and vigorous aroma that are typical of Bouzy.

Established in Bouzy since 1833, the Maison Paul Bara has been passed down from generation to generation. Today, Chantal Bara is in charge of the management of the estate and focuses her efforts on export development. The range unveils a Brut Réserve, a non vintage champagne with a fine mousse, a lively and generous cordon. With a beautiful complexity, it offers notes of honey and bark on the nose. In the mouth, it is fresh and fruity. The Cuvée Rosé is also really surprising. Balanced and generous, it captivates with its notes of raspberry and strawberry.

Valérie and Benoît Lahaye are an atypical couple of winegrowers. Their small estate of 4.4 hectares, spread between Bouzy, Ambonnay and Tauxières-Mutry, is cultivated organically and with animal traction and their wine-making methods are beginning to interest many champagne producers in the region. Non-dosed wines, passage in barrels, non-use of sulfites for one of their cuvée (the Violaine cuvée of 2015, made in very few copies)... Also to be discovered: the Brut Nature cuvée, a fresh and lively wine, or the Blanc de Noirs cuvée.

Founded in 1923 by Fernand Dauvergne and Hubert Baron, this fine brand has stood the test of time without ever losing its DNA. 11 wines to discover. Our favorite is Délice de Bouzy, with its full, intense mouthfeel and powerful, distinctive nose. It's a wine that's perfect for an impromptu aperitif with friends, served with foie gras toast.
