Overlooking the Aire valley, the village of Cornay is the land of the Counts of Grandpré, who established a fortress there at the beginning of the Middle Ages. It was destroyed during the Wars of Religion. Built in the 17th century, the castle of Cornay remains a remarkable jewel. A few wrought iron crosses, the work of the master forger, whose residence can still be seen on the banks of the river Aire, bear witness to Cornay's metallurgical past. To the south of Champ Crochet, the Croix du Baye, on the Way of the Cross, offers a magnificent panorama over the valley.
