Situated on the Roman road from Vésone (Périgueux) to Cahors, wedged between the Dordogne river and the Germaine stream - which was diverted to transform the swamp into a body of water - the village of Groléjac offers a soothing setting. The church, with its barlong bell tower and ogival porch, is a fine Romanesque edifice with a slate roof and superb 17th-century woodwork. The village is dominated by its beautiful 14th-century château. Groléjac offers several hiking trails that can be explored on foot, by bike or on horseback. Outdoor activities are also organized, notably around the lake.
