In the heart of the city, meet with the traditional flavours of the Serranía de Andújar: monte monte, lomo by adobo (porc), codornices salsa of Sierra (quails) or conejo has andujareña (rabbit) filling large pots placed on the counter. The décor is pleasant and the mistress, recognised for its know-how, is regularly invited by Andalusian television or by the Casa de Cultura nearby to deliver some of its culinary secrets.

Both a popular bar-cafeteria, animated by a boys'ballet in black and white striped jacket, powerful lighting and menu of the day at 13 € as much as an old school restaurant, frequented by the notables of the city (à la carte from 22 €). Located in the port, opposite the car park, this bar, "el pescador", immediately displays its very local atmosphere, i.e. seafaring, and its flagship dishes such as guisos marineros (stews from the sea). The most popular dish with visitors is rice with seafood, but you can also enjoy the razorclams in a sauce that is sometimes a little spicy, or the homemade cuttlefish balls. In general, the fish, fried, in sauce or grilled, is declined under all its facets. To be tasted in the dining room or on the small terrace.

Near the Mercado de Abastos, this small wine bar and restaurant has been a good selection of nectars from almost all the provinces of Spain and foreign countries since 2005. And this in a decor of old train car for the restaurant part and led by El Che, the alma mater of this welcoming place. In glass or bottle, beverages can be accompanied by excellent tapas and racons (fried chino, risotto de Rabo de Toro…) prepared by his companion. For wine, the right choice will be given priority on the regional stage, the Torreperogil red wines (10 km east of Úbeda), a small quality production, difficult to meet outside Jaén province: Very red fruit in the mouth, like a jam of blueberries and ripe, nothing caramelized. On the menu side, the card changes depending on the season and it will now be possible to settle on a large, quiet terrace to taste the oil selections as well as the homemade bread, the hochíos, to the anised flavor.

CARMEN MIRADOR DE AIXA

1 review

Among the very best restaurants with terraces in Granada and Albaicín, this family business serves excellent homemade Mediterranean cuisine using good local products, while offering breathtaking views day and night, with illuminations. A stone's throw from the Mirador de San Nicolás, facing the Alhambra, the space, a carmen from the Nasrid era, is distinguished, superb with almond and fig trees. On a garden terrace or in a rustic and elegant lounge, after fresh salads or soups (hot or cold, depending on the season) welcome, make way for very beautiful presentations in generous portions: cod poached with peppers and shrimps or gratinated in hollandaise sauce, chuletón de buey con calabaza al Pedro Ximénez (rib of beef with squash and Jerez natural sweet wine), brocheta con langostinostinos sweet sauce with Sherry. The side dishes are just as appetizing as the meat (veal...) and fish (many bacalao dishes). The wine list will delight aesthetes, international travellers or those from the local bourgeoisie (the two main components of the clientele of this carmen) with many references including wines from the surroundings of Granada such as the pago de Almares (red) or the mencal (white), with a good quality/price ratio. In an excellent atmosphere, at the Mirador de Aixa (pronounced Aïcha), the meals always end with sublime desserts such as the holjadre of caramelized apples (puff pastry) and the kind words of the very welcoming owners, Paco, Carmen and their daughter, escorted by a very good team.

With beautiful à la carte proposals and meticulous presentations. It is advisable to try the morcilla con cebolla, a deliciously seasoned pudding, flamenco, a homemade escalope filled with ham and breaded, and the cheeses of Montefrío, a goat with a justified reputation, accompanied by honey and jam. Which will serve as cheese and dessert. To be enjoyed in a charming setting decorated with old tools or on the terrace, very pleasant on sunny days. Between main shopping rue Larios and cathedral, innovation well-located for good malagueños dye; they, moreover, already adopted this establishment and its branches, here in Málaga, or in Torremolinos. Chic, one nothing chewed, this space and comfort, with enormous bar, very high tables and stools, lounges and small terrace, in the dish views. For aperitif: langostinos ajillos (small langoustines enhanced by garlic), fried alcachofas (artichoke heart) to swoon, atun con porra (tuna), not bad... If you decide to stay, with the pianos, a cuisine of traditional Andalusian dishes without telling it: good choice of fish (fish, monkfish sabres...) and seafood (clams, prawns...) and then some classic solomillo meats (pork, beef or veal and rooms of lamb). Small delights between people of good taste, rather around fifty, also come for the extensive menu from the wines, under the auspices of a team of apprentices in white suits.

Close to the shopping galleries of El Corte Inglès, its refined décor, a tad precious white, grey and green, contrasts with large bay windows, a giant wine glass behind the counter, and a team in white costumes and traditional draw. The establishment of Gregorio García (assisted by his son), a leading catering manitou, flavour detector and incidentally former president of the Federación de Hostelería de Granada, has set itself the leitmotif of introducing sophisticated cuisine, using the most advanced and avant-garde techniques available at the time, while giving pride of place to top quality products. The bet is won in two dedicated areas, a gastrobar with well calibrated tapas and raciones and a chic restaurant for a more complete meal. Pizarra (eggplant with honey), huevos roto, lomo, homemade croquettes, good starter to share, the tender pulpo with fresh onions, hot potatoes and paprika is, as for him, very good, divine also the carpaccio de presa ibérica (piece of pork of choice) and liver with truffle oil or the half-cooked duck, without forgetting the roast lamb segureño, a sure value of the house to accompany good growth. In the end, a lot of creativity while keeping in mind the idea of making people happy...

On one of the largest pedestrian squares in Granada, facing kiosks of merchants of flowers and in Alcaicería (bazaar crafts), the grill room restaurant serves Mediterranean cuisine, and traditional, Andalusian of good level, both in terms of quality and freshness of the products as presentation of the appetising dishes. In very pleasant summer terrace, as close to the passeggiata or granadine, or as elegant dining rooms and full of history, recovered well (columns, stone, beams, stucco...) with beautiful wine cellar and bar with tapas, on a map in different languages (do not escape!), you can indulge... For starters, by delectable scrambled eggs with boletus and foie gras, delicious fried eggplant with honey or the mozarabic salad or the bluefin tuna tataki. A lot of choice, also, in the large section dishes grace, in particular, with good grills braised accompanied by sauce (green pepper, mushrooms, roquefort...) and bread, octopus to the galéga, a fillet of espada's (fish sabres) to the oven or, according to the arrival, the roast suckling pig. Some pasta and pizza complete the list, especially for children. Mention for homemade desserts: pies with blackberries and almonds, tocino del cielo or piononos (specialities pastry chefs local). For wines (over a hundred, some are ordered by the glass), let yourself be guided by a very professional staff and references of Granada: white wine Calvente or red wine Deifontes fonte Dei, that delight!

GASTROBAR SIBARIUS

Very well located on the very central and commercial Place de Bib-Rambla, near the Alcaicería, the ancient silk market of the Nazarí era, it is a contemporary establishment, on two floors with mezzanine and welcoming terrace. Its concept: The Mediterranean cuisine of the market, merging with the nikkei, resulting from the coming of a Japanese community in Peru… Sibarius comes from Sibaritas (which means gourmet), drifting etymologically from Sibari (Calabria), a Roman city known for the quality of its services in antiquity. On the program, in a décor highlighting the nobility of wood, a new gastronomic experience with new flavors and based on fresh and natural ingredients: fresh oysters, delicious sushi, scrambled eggs in foie gras, vegetable tempura and lobster, tataki or almadraba bluefin tuna tartar, ceviccios of Saint-Jacques or bar, carpaccios, causa Limeña (specialty of pre-Columbian origin), parrilla topp and Asian flavors, Mediterranean and oriental rice, tuna or beef burger, mix of octopus and potatoes (paja), tartones, lamb rides of the Sierra de Segura, braise meat, homemade desserts served in small preserved preserved pots and cocktails. In summary: infinite touch of touch and detail to surprise the most demanding gastronome. In a relaxing and entertaining atmosphere accompanied by quality service and a cellar (in sight) of excellent wines, Sibarius and its elegant decor between now, in the courtyard of Granada's great restaurants. Bold and interesting address!

There will be little tastes of France and theatre for those who will have the chance to come and eat in this place. Opened since the beginning of 2018 by Juan Lú Fernández, chef de cuisine at the Aponiente restaurant for 10 years. On the theatre side, it is the art of cooking and the products that are highlighted. Located in the centre of the restaurant, the kitchen functions as an "island" according to the chef and will allow you to follow the preparation of the dishes live. Either sitting on the barras on either side of the central island, or from a few tables, accompanied by their Louis XVI style chairs. And the prepared products, essential according to the chef, are displayed with all the honour they deserve. On the French side, you can enjoy a Bresse duck with Périgordine sauce, poultry raised in France and a whole series of sauces such as gribiche or beurre blanc. Not to mention of course the seafood from the Bay of Cadiz. Baba or chocolate soufflé can close the meal. With a wine list that logically favours Jerez wines.

In the category "good restoration plans", perhaps among the best kept secrets of the granadina capital… Tucked in the "duck palace", this th century palacio-shop, hides a high-dress table, both in the kitchen (refined with fresh products), the service (applied and well informed) and the framework: modern gallery with fountain overlooking terrace in the outside garden. Admittedly the rates presented in this Senzone (name of restaurants in the Hospes luxury Hotel chain) are in keeping with the rank of the establishment but lunch or tapas dinner, as is customary in Granada and everywhere in Andalusia, remains very accessible. But, chut! We don't want to know too much, to keep the "exclusive" aspect. Behind the grids of this closed 5-star space, the spectacular urchin ballet ballet, on bed of large white salt, ris calf to season mushrooms, wild duck mallard or fish according to batch (like a San Pedro in the oven and its polenta) before ending with a flowing, bitter orange sauce… Presentation to point and innovative author cuisine… Privilege reserved for a rather international clientele or national (good families!).
