Founded in 1923, it is the forerunner of all stores devoted to flamenco and féria crafts. The boutique is like a department store, with a vast choice of fans of all categories and prices, some made of lace and hand-painted; embroidered shawls; flamenco dresses; superb mantillas; cult objects; figurines and a whole range of jewelry. All the clothes and objects are also of high quality, with the price to match.

This is a workshop where Antonio also makes and sells his own guitars. All woods are used: cypress wood for flamenco guitars, Indian wood for classical guitars. The great flamenco guitarists continue to come here to choose their instrument. But it's also the place to go if you're looking for a good-quality guitar. Online ordering and delivery. Among its customers are the Gipsy Kings.

ARTEDOS OSUNA

Leather Clothing

Impossible to come in Osuna without passing by this temple of the arts and crafts of the leather of Córdoba. Held by Alberto Delgado and Manuel Morillo, this workshop began in 1995 when the two men decided to take again the old workshop of the Master of the kind, Antonio Rodriguez Hidalgo. All leathers are worked with the hand, while following two techniques, the Cordobán and the Guamací, which give to the material a pushed back leather aspect and can be decorated gildings or drawings for most various uses of decoration: cushions, headboards, trunks... for that of houses or hotels but also that of the churches with retables. If you remain with the hotel Put of Judería in Seville, perhaps you will be likely to sleep in the room which they decorated. The discovery of the place will be an enchantment for the eyes but also very instructive since it will enable you to visualize some key stages of the processes of the work of leather.

EL CORTE INGLÉS

Shopping mall

Is it still necessary to present El Corte Inglés, the most important chain of department stores in Spain, a bit like our Printemps or our Galeries Lafayette? In this large store spread over several floors, you will find almost everything: men's, women's and children's clothing, cosmetics, decoration, computer equipment. Not to mention a well-stocked supermarket section, which includes a "gourmet" area where you can stock up on specialities (oils, ham, preserves, etc.).

LA CASA DEL LIBRO

General bookshop

Located in an old building and spread over three floors, with elevator, this casa del libro ispart of a chain of Spanish bookstores and of the two that the city of Seville has. But since it is located in a building that is quite close to the places to visit, it will be a delight for Spanish-speaking people in need of reading. Especially since the Fnac had to leave its idyllic center and move to the Cartuja, due to the high cost of square meters. There is a very nice paperback section on the second floor.

You will find all styles and types of clothes: dresses, coats and t-shirts, both colourful and well cut, original. All the clothes have an artistic or bohemian feel to them... and may remind you of the style of Custo Barcelona. A sample booklet allows you to choose a model in the color you want.

PADILLA LIBROS

Bookshop
Closed - Open to 10h00

Founded in 1969, this small, dusty-looking publishing house is full of little treasures, such as little notebooks of puns with a sharp sense of humor or sayings used in different centuries. You'll have to learn Spanish, because the thoughts and reflections are written in the language of Cervantes. Among the other little wonders: beautiful reproductions of old engravings of Seville, decorated notebooks, old-fashioned postcards. For "an economical, personalized, useful and beautiful gift".

MAQUEDANO

Hats gloves and scarves specialist

The oldest hat shop in Seville has been located in an Art Deco building designed by José Gómez Millán since 1908. For a long time it was the only hat shop in the city and the first to offer its customers the famous Panama hats. Nowadays, you can still admire their collections, as well as many women's headdresses, recommended for weddings. But we would like to buy some just to leave with the beautiful packages that wrap them. Note on the first floor, the former glass gallery, now a warehouse.

DANIEL GIL DE AVALLE

Music store

It was in 1995, at the age of 34, that Daniel Gil de Alvalle opened his first shop in Granada, with a long way to go since he started in this art at the age of 17, under the direction of a master luthier. And nearly forty years later, and notwithstanding the many awards he received, it is only today that he feels satisfied with the work he has done, since the sounds produced by the instruments he makes correspond to the objectives he had set for himself. In other words, we are entering a high place of taste for meticulous work, from the selection of woods to the construction of instruments. And that the notion of time becomes meaningful again if we know that it will take 10 to 30 years for the selected wood to dry properly. You can buy an instrument, flamenco guitar, concert or classical and if you wanted to order one, no rush, it will take about a year.

LA ALCAICERIA

Gifts and souvenirs

This large Granada bazaar can be accessed from Piazza Bib-Rambla, since the current alcaicería is an interlacing of alleys located between this square, Calle Reyes Católicos, the cathedral and Gran Vía. Built in 1318 by Sultan Yusuf I, the former space was designed to house a gigantic silk market and took its name from the Arabic al-Qassaryya, Caesar's house, in gratitude to the Byzantine Emperor Caesar Justino I who, in the sixth century, granted the Arabs the exclusive right to manufacture and sell silk. This product was then accompanied by many other fabrics, taffeta, velvet, scarves and various spices. The current replica occupies only half the surface area of the old enclosure which, at its peak, went as far as the old Nazarí Aljima mosque, the current Sagrario church and the beginning of the first ascents of the Plaza Nueva. At that time, it was flanked by 10 access doors closed every night and housed up to 200 shopkeepers, housed in one- or two-storey houses in which the ground floor was used as a shop, not to mention the many guards and quality controllers of the goods. When the Catholic Monarchs arrived, the market was run by a governor, himself directly appointed by the governor of the Alhambra, who was in charge of its supervision until the 19th century. After the fire that completely destroyed it in 1843, it was completely rebuilt in a romantic and neo-Arab style, but in a more modest space. Smaller, more modern and less flamboyant, it now houses many small shops of local crafts, such as Fajalauza ceramics, wood inlays, leather work and lighting.

PILAR DALBAT

Fashion designer

After studying fashion in Madrid, London and Paris and then working as a buyer for Parisian collections for over 10 years in the 1990s, Pilar chose to return to Granada in 2000 to open her own boutique and workshop. Now located a few steps from the Plaza de la Trinidad, since September 2018. The opportunity to familiarize yourself with the two lines, ready-to-wear and tailor-made, of the one that has become a regular at the Madrid pasarela fashion shows and presented its latest models at the 2018 Paris Fashion Week, accompanied by Blanca Li. As for its previous collections, it was inspired by the Granada heritage, this time taking as its main theme the painting that the painter José Guerrero dedicated to the murder of García Lorca, la Brecha. Declined on many jewels or on t-shirts displaying the #guerreras. Everything here is 100% made in Spain, from the fabrics to the latest handmade embroidery.
