LA COQUILLE DE MASSIAC - MME NICOLE BOULET

Regional groceries
5/5
1 review

Nicole Boulet, recently joined by Jocelyne Didou, chose in 1999 to raise 60,000 petit gris snails on her farm. She also grows her own vegetables and fruit to make her own organic products. Of course, there is the traditional snail for the holidays, but also a whole range of snailines for the aperitif. We recommend the recipe with lentils from Saint-Flour to garnish cherry tomatoes. A must visit (by appointment)!

Jean and Jeremy run a store dedicated to 100% ethical products for the aperitif. Their commitment: to offer quality products, to favor organic, reasoned, local or at least French products. You can buy peanuts in bulk, spreads, chips from Aveyron, lemonades from Vercors... but also wines, beers and spirits. The two companions propose trays to compose with cheeses, delicatessen, dried fruits and chips, nicely presented in big spruce boxes made for them by a craftsman of the Jura.

Closed - Open to 16h00

The adage "from the field to the plate" takes on its full meaning at the Ferme des Blés d'Or thanks to Noël Lafertin, farmer and baker. Nono's bread is the fruit of the work of this lover of old-fashioned bread. A divine bread and for good reason, since the cereals grown with love are harvested here, crushed and then transformed into crunchy bread. Long loaves, baguettes, plain or special, Nono's breads have their fans who flock to the bakery on the rare days it is open. Don't miss the famous apple pie either!

We recommend the organic Chadrat flour bread, the rye bread or the "tordu", on sale at the end of the day. Sylvie is always ready to welcome you with a smile. The bakery has also opened in Royat. On a daily basis, the seasons invite to the ponds full of fresh fruits and vegetables from the production of Patrice Tranchant, a vegetable garden for over 25 years on the municipalities of Marcellaz Albanian and Sales in Haute-Savoie. A variety of quality fruits and vegetables, which can be seen in the markets of Annecy's Old Town, Annecy-le-Vieux, Seynod, Cran-Gévrier, Rumilly… The passion of Pascale Mugnier for this profession led her to open his shop for us offer daily access to the best of its selection. The service is efficient and attentive for each customer. Tips and tips are being made with Marie-José to make surprising home recipes, with the complicity of a team always smiling. The large window opening onto the street is a real eye-catcher. Behind it are breads, cakes and pastries. The long line that regularly snakes around the front is worthy of all the gastronomic reviews. The opening of the outlet is a renaissance and an opportunity for the bakery to develop its own creations, such as petit paillasse with wild garlic, or bread made with sourdough and organic (low-gluten) petit épeautre flour. If the diversity of local products found there (honey, sausage, lentils, eggs, craft beer, etc.) could allow us to qualify this cheese shop as a grocery store, it is indeed the cheese that is at the centre of attention and for good reason. Lizette has been working with cheese since she was 16 years old and she knows her stuff. Her advice is accurate and valuable, her explanations are clear and she never hesitates to offer a little tasting. Her good humour is a pleasure to see and her cheeses, coming directly from local producers, are delicious.

1 review

Originally from Alsace, Eugène Weiss left his native country during the war of 1870 to settle in Saint-Etienne where he opened his chocolate candy confectionery in 1882 at 8 rue général Foy. Recently repainted in purple, a discreet reminder of the colour of chocolate, with the portrait of the founder at the back of the shop, this shop was awarded a prize in the 2011 commerce design competition. In 1912, he invented the famous chocolate square, to be served near a café. Chocolate to cook, or to taste, in bars or already prepared, to offer or to indulge oneself: chocolate cat tongues, cream sticks, palets, chocolate discs, nougastelles, nougamadines or orangettes. This world-famous chocolate factory has opened its chocolate museum next to its factory at Pont de l'Âne, near the Géant Casino Monthieu. In summer, don't miss the chance to taste the ice creams made mainly with chocolate of course, dark or white, but also with vanilla or strawberry, or even sesame praline...

A committed baker who favours pre-ordering to fight against waste, and 95% of the time... it works! Sylvain Thiéry, a mechanical engineer, decided to become an artisan baker. Far from industrial flour mills, he favours flours crushed with a stone grinder or a steel cylinder. Several varieties are available. What makes this bread special? Another pleasure not to be missed (even if you can order on the Internet): a visit to the Civens shop. A real experience for all the senses around the spread. This pastry shop hides sweet treats with incredible flavors. They seduce us not only with their beauty, but also with the finesse of their tastes. Come and discover the Praliné with its flowing heart of Piedmont hazelnut praline. We appreciated the freshness of the Exotic and, on the chocolate side, it was the Aztèque that won us over with its gourmet dark chocolate cream. To serve you even better, the patisserie has a summer terrace where you can refresh yourself with an artisanal ice cream. The menu features individual cakes as well as entremets and all kinds of cakes for your events (number cake, pièce montée, wedding French...).
