For over thirty years, the Service départemental de la lecture (SDL) has been organizing a storytelling festival. It features renowned storytellers from all over the world, as well as theater companies and professional musicians. The storytellers become tellers of mysterious, funny and moving stories, inspired by dreams or reality. The shows, which are free of charge, tour some forty towns in the département. This festival is a not-to-be-missed event in the Charente, eagerly awaited by all audiences!

It's the oldest race in the department! Since 1977, it has always been a very festive event with its 2 distances (4.5 and 10 km). The circuit is done on roads and paths on the outskirts of La Crèche. To stay in the Christmas spirit, it is welcome to run in disguise and the best disguises will be rewarded. Participants who wish to do so can also make a donation of 1 € to Secours Populaire to give a gift to the most needy at Christmas.

A very natural hike in the countryside of the Mellois country in the heart of Poitou with copious supplies (coffee, brioche, mulled wine, pancakes, soup, cold cuts). At the finish, there are the stadium showers, 4 high pressure cleaners for mountain bikes. The whole thing is animated by a brass band called the disonans. People will discover a beautiful little village and will be welcomed by the 50 volunteers. A sauerkraut meal (paying and limited to 200 people) will be offered to all participants at the end! A small room located on the path of the laundries, restored by the municipality of Moncontour. It allows the association Coutumes, contes et légendes to organize workshops to learn how to make toys. With three times nothing, a piece of string, a sheet of paper... and a knife to cut, to drill, to "gossip", you are able to realize, to invent all that passes through your head! Animations that can be intermingled with tales and legends of the country. And the possibility of exhibiting your creations in the municipal park.

For a long weekend, the street arts - including theater, music, circus arts and visual arts - take over the town of Rions. An ideal medieval setting for this event dedicated to the arts. Let yourself be carried away by this festival, stroll through the streets of Rions and meet the artists. All audiences will be touched by the artists present during these three days of July: dance, theater, music, circus workshops...

The ^14th edition of the Médiévales de Bruch en 2023 was a well-deserved success. The weekend program included medieval games, discovery workshops, a medieval camp and a medieval market with costumed craftsmen. But also music and juggling shows, knights' tournaments and battles, a builders' camp, archery, medieval role-playing, trebuchet shooting... For its^2nd edition, the Biarritz festival aims above all to reveal the cinematic talents of tomorrow, and put the spotlight on the work of budding, emerging and established filmmakers. For 5 days, a jury of artists under the age of 35 will share with the public theatrical and open-air screenings, concerts, exhibitions and meetings with guests of honor. Organized by the Heritage Association, the festival of hemp is the work of passionate people, thanks to a great mobilization of volunteers. Launched in 2014, the Rock'Alibi festival celebrated its 4th edition in 2018. A festival of civic engagement, this event was created by the city to involve young people in the life of the city. Two months before the event, young people aged 12 to 25 participate in numerous discovery workshops around the festival. They can write a song with an artist, discover professionals in communication, security, events... The young passengers then participate in the smooth running of the festival on D-Day. The Rock'Alibi festival starts at 2pm with a large village of citizen engagement where many associations meet. It continues in the evening with a beautiful musical program. As a tribute to the tradition in the United States where the winner was given a small golden glove, the Biarritz Athétic Club created the now famous Gant d'Or de Cesta Punta some twenty years ago, which delights amateurs and neophytes alike. In Mauléon, it's a bit of a festival of vocal surprises. Here, the voice is combined in choirs, in duets, it is crazy and/or scholastic. Also, the 2011 edition programmed the Corsican polyphonies of A Filetta, songs committed by Michèle Bernard or the crazy lyric art of Anne Baquet. But also an intriguing Soundpainting workshop...

The village of Saint-Varent encanaille the time of this very nice street arts festival. The shows are essaimés in the most unlikely places, a car garage, for example, with many moments devoted to conviviality, picnics, balls. The festival celebrated its 10 years in 2010.

Every year, the Imprévu concocts a nice program of concerts (in 2011 Les hurlements d'Léo and Tryo) that attracts about 2,000 visitors to the small village of Montemboeuf. The association of this festival with the crazy team of Groland (Mickael Kael and Kervern in the lead) spices up the affair. And the festival has always associated in its adventure the reception center for mentally handicapped people.

This 2 nd edition of the Lai Excavations that brought together 58 participants in 2016 is expected to be a similar success in 2017, but will be on a circuit different from that of last year. The race will take place on communal roads and roads. A hike will take place on the same route.

Here we go again for the 6th edition! A very friendly trail located in Barcus, a small village in the Pyrenean foothills, on the border of the Basque Country and Bearn.

Beautiful ascents and descents on the program. To close this beautiful sporting event, meet up for a drink and a talo (a cornmeal cake) at the end of the trail!

The Contes en Creuse association is based in Royère-de-Vassivière, but the Paroles de Conteurs festival takes place on the island in summer. The festival features storytelling for children, as well as storytelling walks and performances for adults, known as veillées contées (storytelling evenings). Open stages give amateurs the chance to perform in front of an audience, and workshops encourage them to take their turn as storytellers. Training courses are also offered by the artists on hand. Families will be amazed by the P'tites Z'oreilles extra-curricular events!

Organized by Kansas Dance Association, this event reveals country culture in all its facets.
