The Jurade, Saint-Émilion's wine brotherhood, traces its origins back to 1199. After falling into oblivion, the brotherhood was revived in 1948 by a handful of winegrowers and became the ambassador of Saint-Émilion wines. Every September, the brotherhood organizes the Ban des vendanges from the top of the Tour du Roy. The city then sees the jurats parade past in their ancestral red robes, and witnesses the enthronement of celebrities in the collegiate church. A great moment in the life of Saint-Émilion.

Every year in Biarritz, harnessed and mounted trotting races take place throughout July from 8pm on a renovated 803 m sand track with right-hand rope. The meeting comprises 13 evenings, culminating in the Grand Prix de la Ville organized by the Société des Courses au Trot de Biarritz, chaired by C. Hassenforder-Chabriac. Each evening, races take place between 8.10pm and 11.30pm. The racecourse opens at 7pm, and the pari-mutuel betting windows open at 7:45pm.

Every year in the month of July, the Golf de Biarritz Le Phare welcomes the most important and oldest of the French events reserved for amateurs. Played over 4 days and 72 holes, it is the amateur competition which is closest to the professionals.

The Fishermen's Port is in celebration, it is an opportunity to soak up Basque folk dances, to enjoy the different ephemeral bodegas, held by various associations in the city and to end with an unmissable toro de fuego. Beautiful evenings ahead.

This little party is organized in the Saint-Charles district. A friendly aperitif between inhabitants, shopkeepers, members of Esprit Saint-Charles is prepared around "vino & pintxos". These are offered by the excellent and historic food trades of the district.

All over France, the nights of July 14 and August 15 are sublimated by fireworks. Those in Biarritz are particularly appreciated, from the Rocher du Basta in July, and from the Rocher du Basta and the Grande Plage in August. The fat markets, a popular and gastronomic tradition well anchored in the Landes. From April to October, local producers offer their flagship products directly on the markets: foie gras, whole geese and ducks, gizzards, confits, duck breasts... Among the best known fat markets, head for Dax (Saturday morning, from November to March), Villeneuve-de-Marsan (Wednesday morning, from October to April), Peyrehorade (Wednesday morning, from November to mid-March), Mont-de-Marsan (Tuesday and Saturday morning) or Saint-Sever (Saturday morning). For more than 20 years now, jazz has been making the capital of the island vibrate! In the heart of August, in the summer torpor, the notes of jazz resound during three nights in the port of Saint-Martin-de-Ré. Free concerts allow the greatest number of people to fully enjoy this music, all in a friendly atmosphere. All styles are present, offering a beautiful diversity!

Every year, Sarlat celebrates its fetish animal: noisy flocks of geese cavort through the medieval city, wandering between the stands where they taste the famous carcass soup (a true local tradition) offered to all to warm up. The Biarritz Piano Festival remains a major and unmissable event during the summer season in the Basque Country. It is a program always more awaited each year for mornings, evenings and nocturnes pianistiques. About thirty concerts await you with the new generation of performers from all over the world. Every year, an audience of music lovers comes to attend the piano festival. In parallel to the official program, concerts are given voluntarily "outside the walls" by artists in hospitals (Ehpad, hospitals...).

It is every year since 2015, the meeting of the best professional surfers on the planet! The International Professional Surfing Competition (QS 3.000), female and male of the World Surf League. This event was born from the common will of the city of Anglet and the WSL to put the town and the Basque Coast at the heart of the professional surfing qualifying circuit. It is now one of the most important events of the European season. The best pros come to compete on the famous spots of the Atlantic Ocean.

"Garonne en fête" celebrates the Garonne River. On this day, the Agen conurbation creates an event around water. Not only sports, but also culture and local delicacies are in the spotlight. Open-air screenings of the latest surf films in the Jardin de la Grotte de la Chambre d'Amour in the evening, and daytime screenings at Espace de l'Océan. Each evening features a new concert, a food truck village for nibbling before the film screenings, and a fireworks display on the closing night to celebrate the festival's 20th anniversary. During the event, the Sportjam Surf Test will also give you the chance to try out the latest surf, surfskate and beach bike equipment.

On the program: an hour on a Bodycombat sculpt mix, followed by an hour of Bodyjam. Sessions are led by fitness specialist Mickaël. From 7 to 77 years old, you're all welcome, whatever your level! Located kilometres from Niort, on one of the paths leading from Poitou to the ocean, Mauzé-sur-le-Mignon offers an easy walk to the discovery of its architectural and architectural heritage. The commune of Anglet has managed to develop its urban area to encourage outdoor activities. The seafront is bordered by a cycle path, called Boulevard des Plages, which is 4.5 km long. Starting from the esplanade Yves-Brunaud, it goes up along the eleven beaches of the city, up to the beach of La Barre. From there, you can join the Adour river and pedal towards Bayonne on another cycle path along the water. The Boulevard des Plages can also be reached on foot. A total of almost 18 km have been laid out today. It's up to you to choose which beach you want to stop at!

Every year, the commune of La Chapelle-aux-Saints takes us back to prehistory for a whole weekend. As well as visiting the archaeological site in the afternoons, you can wander through the village, taking in exhibitions, workshops and other events. The program includes the European Prehistoric Weapons Shooting Championship, tree-print recognition, a market, a hike, round-table discussions...

If you are in the Argentat region during the last week of July, don't miss a little tour in the village of Lanteuil. Discover the traditional dances of this Correzian territory and the old-fashioned costumes worn by the dancers. Over two days, folk groups perform in the streets of the village and craftsmen demonstrate their art. Also craftsmen and artists working with rye straw.

A free, popular, brin fête has been taking place for six summers on the banks of the Dordogne in Argentat: All on the Bridge! This is the watchword of this beautiful festive day that revives the legend of Coulobre, this serpent snake that accompanied the gabariers. In a lively and joyful atmosphere, we eat on the bridge, the crews of rafts venture on the water and Argentat makes its cinema.

The Festival of Baroque Theater in the Black Perigord is organized by the Oghmac Company. A week of discovery of this very particular theater. This company of theatrical and musical creations revives the baroque theater and its repertoire according to its tradition. Their research leads them to work on diction and gestures, as well as costumes. Finally, under a covered market, on a village square or in a castle courtyard, they offer shows performed by candlelight

The 8th edition of Mars Planète Danse offers four evenings composed of nine pieces in order to see dance in a different way, as a constellation of shows that opens on different universes and makes the imagination work. Hip-hop, circus, contemporary dance put on stage different horizons of the choreographic art. The atmosphere cultivated in this singular meeting place is festive and open to all: come and enjoy this atmosphere with your family!

Traditionally, in La Rochelle two races are held in November. Before facing the marathon that took place at the end of the month, joggers can take to the streets of Port-Neuf. On the programme, 10 km on flat ground in a district not far from the city centre by the ocean. Forget the wind and cold, bring a pair of shoes and a windproof jacket! It should be noted that the start takes place on the "Colette Besson" playground, which won the gold medal in 1968 for the 400 metres at the Olympic Games in Mexico City.
