BARBARIAN MUSEUM
Read moreThis is one of the most exciting museums. An essential stop that will captivate young and old alike. Unique site in France, the museum is interested in a period that extends from the 5th to the 8th century. The atmosphere of the place is particular and the visitor quickly immerses himself in this little-known period. The Museum of Barbarian Times shows archaeological treasures discovered more than 25 years ago in the territory of Goudélancourt-les-Pierrepont. A necropolis of 400 tombs and several isolated dwellings had been discovered there. Today, reconstructions are available and we appreciate the many explanatory panels that guide visitors to the heart of history. Enjoy the immense park that hosts the village of Les Francs, where regularly, great events take place, such as the Viking week or the Roman and Barbarian weekend. Fighting will be presented to you: great show guaranteed!

Located in a wetland area of approximately hectares, part of which is devoted to water sports and fishing, the reserve presents a wide variety of species in the moving waters, and a particularly rich avifauna of breeding birds or seasonal hosts: butternut, posh, coot, rousserolle, fauvette and, in times of migration, many ducks, sandpipers, curlew… The farmhouse allows visitors to observe chickens, ducks, sheep, peacock, geese, kids, lambs and ponies. A few steps away, the Wild Wildlife protection centre treats injured birds (kept out of the public eye). The Environment House, at the entrance to the park, regularly hosts exhibitions on local fauna and flora. Site tour by a peripheral path, guided every first Sunday of the month.
