BETHUNE'S COMEDY

A purple-stained concrete building with an Italian facade, the Comédie de Béthune does not go unnoticed... so much so that the inhabitants of Bethun themselves nicknamed it the Blockhouse. Yet the Comédie de Béthune is not at all a closed place, quite the contrary. Here, we share, exchange, vibrate and move together around eclectic creations. The ambition of the Comédie, which is also the Théâtre des pays du Nord, is to promote access for all to culture and to allow the discovery of various scenic forms. Humanity, fraternity, but also respect for heritage and history are the key words of this demanding establishment. The Comedy has indeed taken up residence in the former famous Béthunois cinema, the Palace, which once welcomed great stars such as Edith Piaf and Yves Montand.
