A park with a rose garden and a collection of marble sculptures, a great address for picnic lovers.

The project initiated in 1752 of "French garden" to complete the redevelopment of the royal residence did not have time to see the day before the Revolution. And it is Napoleon I who in 1806 will réimpulser the work to transform this park into a cradle of greenery and elegant pavilions extending to the forest and the promenade des Beaux Monts. A collection of around thirty marble sculptures inspired by antiquity is discovered throughout the aisles. It should not be missed: the roses garden which is open from the end of May to mid-June, but you can also discover the twisted grenadiers, the floral mass or the purple beech planted under Napoleon III. A popular place for lovers and picnic enthusiasts. Other parks deserve detour in Compiègne: Debayser Park on the side of the Mémorial Memorial, the Parc des Remparts not far from the castle, and the park think in front of the Joan d'Arc tower, named in homage to the heroin captured on the other side of the Oise on 23 May 1430.

A faire absolument si on passe à Compiègne.
