THE CHURCH OF OUR LADY
Read moreAccording to tradition and according to a former document, King Saint Louis would be the founder of the church Notre-Dame de Chambly. Most of this Gothic building dates back to the th century; the choir, the nave, the facade, the small chapel of the Holy Virgin and the th century tower. The nave contains a beautifully sculpted Louis XIV chair. Four turning points, part of an immense polyptyque of antwerp or brabançonne origin, attract many visitors. These components represent St. Gregory's Mass, the Supper, the Judas de Judas, Ecce Homo, the Garden of Olive Trees, Pentecost and Resurrection.
LOCAL ABBEY
Read moreNotre-Dame Abbey was built in 1138 by Raoul IV of Vermandois, Comte de Crépy. If the church we observe today is very different from that of the 40 th century, excavations over the past years have revealed the architectural importance of the parish: a rigorous symmetry, a prominent transept, a basilicale nave and a flat chevet choir (replaced by a apse in the th century). After the Hundred Years War, the abbey is almost entirely restored. The nave passes from five to three spans. The crosspieces are associated with the central vessel thanks to a hanger double arcade back on a circular stack. The abbey is a beautiful example of flamboyant Gothic, as evidenced by the very wide and refined rose facade of its exterior exterior, illuminated under the rays of the sunset sun. The abbey is located outside the village of Bonneuil (access by RD 32 between Fresnoy-la-Rivière and Vez).

THE MARINE
Read moreYes, La Marne, if one sometimes tends to forget it, is one of the most important assets of the commune. A few years before the Revolution, in 1784, when men hijacked it from its original bed to gain ground, the river caused significant flooding, which was repeated in the early th century. The preferred solution was to lift the right bank. But if his relations with man were sometimes tense, they also gave rise to beautiful works, including beautiful bridges, including the one built by François I, with 9 arches.

TIMBER-FRAMED HOUSES
Read moreEparpillées in the old town, some houses were occupied by the German bombings of 1940. Just behind the cathedral, those of Racine and Pastour streets built in the th century are, for example, recognisable to their étages floors. It is in the route des Chasse-marée that is the oldest house in Beauvais: judge rather, it dates back to 1410! It was originally located in the rue Oudry, and was completely dismantled to be rebuilt in the 1990 s at the bedside of the cathedral. Today it houses the headquarters of the Association «Maisons paysannes de l'Oise». Also in the episcopal district, the streets of the Tourne-Broche, Abbot-Gellée, School-de-Chant (including the Rodin House in which the sculptor lived for three years) also houses canoniales houses. The beautiful half-timbered houses built in the 27 th century are also numerous on the street of June. It was here that the members of the clergy and the notables were inhabited, while the bourgeois and the workers were relegated beyond the Gallo-Roman walls.
