Sentinel of the Pré Carré of the fortified cities of Hainaut, Maubeuge still has two thirds of the surrounding wall designed by Vauban. From the zoo to the Monier pond, you will pass by all the most beautiful vestiges of these fortifications, while strolling in a green and bucolic setting. During your stroll, note the Porte de Mons, emblem of the city's fortifications and classified as a historical monument. Note that the tourist office also offers tours to discover the heritage of Maubeuge and the city rebuilt in the 1950s.
