If the place Plumereau is the heart of the city of Tours, the place Jean Jaurès is the nerve centre. This is the ideal landmark in the city: indeed, the two arteries that are Béranger Boulevard and the Heurteloup boulevard intersect here perpendicular, cut Tours in four well defined areas. The square is dominated by the Hotel de Ville, a magnificent monument designed by the tourangeau architect Victor Laloux at the hinge of the th and th centuries. Two wings of the castle were rebuilt in the seventeenth century in the classic style. Recently sold, the castle opened its doors in 2018. Bourbonnoux Street is urbanised in the th century outside the Gallo-Roman rampart and follows the route. Until the beginning of the th century, it was a very important artery of the city, and many artisans and traders lived there. The wooden houses on this street, most reconstructed after the fire of the Madeleine in 1487, were on street and often two floors - modified later. They are constructed in corbel on enlarged pole, limiting the projection of the floor on the ground floor. The half-timbered houses of Bourges houses are in diamond or cross-André. As is still the case, the ground floor is usually occupied by a shop - finally - followed by a service room - the kitchen - at the back. The rooms are on the floor, and they can be accessed by a screw staircase in the side corridor leading to the courtyard and the workshop. The Gothic style focuses on poles and beams. The houses are separated by stone fire streets.

The castle does not visit, but you can enjoy a pleasant stroll in its park, in the shadow of the many centuries-old trees that make it up. On your way you can meet deer, donkeys, peacocks, lower court animals… a playground for children makes it an ideal place for families. As for the castle, it is the site of a fortress built in the th century. In the th century, a castle of feudal type was substituted and destroyed under the French Revolution. A bourgeois house replaces it between 1822 and 1860. Eugene Mesquite made a large house Louis XIII, decorated with Renaissance motifs.

The museum is located in an ancient house, just next to the one where the great adventurer died. Henry de Monfreid (1879-1974) was an adventurer, writer (70 novels) and a painter: he is a figure to discover! The museum presents watercolours and personal memories of the writer. No doubt, Voves is one of the leaders of the Beauce region! To confirm, wheats are forged on the monumental door of the church of the commune erected at the end of the th century. This is one of the peculiarities of this building, which is in the middle of the village. Other remarkable elements: the visible visible when entering the church. A part is now dedicated to the city hall. Not to mention the Auld-Alliance Memorial, which thus perpetuates the sealed pact between the kingdoms of France and Scotland. You can also admire the tapestries of Aubusson by Louis XIV in Louise de Keroualle. Restorations took place since, especially the south wing at the end of the nineteenth century. It has been classified as Historic Monument since 1862, thank you certainly Mérimée!

The spire of the bell was restored by a pupil of Violet the Duke. The church has undergone an important internal and external work campaign to bring it back to its ancient splendour.
