A commandery with a gîte to visit for a real immersion in the Middle Ages thanks to the museum's many activities.

Founded in the early ^12th century, the Commanderie d'Arville is "the best-preserved Templar commandery in France", with its unique collection of buildings dating from the 12th^to^16th centuries. Church, stables, tithe barn, dovecote - each one tells the story of the daily life of these knightly monks. The spirit of the Knights Templar, who prepared for the Crusades to protect pilgrims, haunts every stone and invites you to take a journey back in time.

Annual closure from November 4 to February 9. Open every day, including public holidays. February to March and September to November: 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. March 28 to September 4: 10 am to 6:30 pm. April to August: 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. (ticket office closed between 12.30 and 1.30 p.m. on weekends). Free admission for children under 6. Adults: €6 (teenagers: €5). Children (aged 6 to 12): €3 (visit to the museum, history center, buildings and garden). Groups (10 people): €6. Visit to buildings and medieval garden: €5. Visit to museum (history center), buildings and garden: €8. Audioguides: €2 supplement (French, English, German, Spanish).

Très belle commanderie !!!

Grâce au confinement et à la barrière des 100 kms, nous avons visité La commanderie des Templiers d'arville. On commence par un accueil sympathique, et on continue par un musée qui n'est pas banal. Les enfants apprécieront la mise en scène, puis les bâtiments sont biens rénovés, expliqués, et on peut voir avec un peu de chance grenouilles vers l'étang. A ne pas louper l'église !!!
