Troglodyte journey and exceptional wine tasting at Grandes Caves Saint-Roch, between Tours and Vouvray.

Located in Rochecorbon, between Tours and Vouvray, the Grandes Caves Saint-Roch were originally quarries for extracting tufa stone. They were dug between the 12th and 19th centuries. You will discover activities that are often unknown, such as sericulture and mushroom growing. You must visit this fascinating troglodyte world. To discover: the ranges of the appellation, traditional method (Vouvray, Crémant-de-Loire and Touraine) and the wines of property.

Went today and had an awesome and educational tasting with Corentin Potier. You can call him Cory. He was great and very knowledgeable about everything wine related that we asked about. His guided tasting of the entire Loire Valley was incredible. Highly recommended!!

My wife and I visited the wine shop and wine caves after we met one of the team at the recent wine festival in Tours. We had a pleasant self guided tour accompanied by an English language booklet providing details of the history of wine making and other historical factors. The team member we spoke to was very knowledgeable and there is a fine selection of wine available to buy.
It’s very close to Tours itself, recommended if you are in the area.
