Renaissance style castle with old decorative elements and an English park, a museum with an exhibition of religious art.

Three kilometers from Cheverny, Troussay, the smallest of the large Renaissance Loire châteaux, is not just a museum, but has retained its role as a home. It presents visitors with a collection of precious antique decorative elements, harmoniously integrated both inside and outside the building: stone carvings adorning the facades and fireplaces, finely carved wooden doors and windows, painted ceilings, polychrome stained glass, antique locks, Louis XII floor tiles, all adorned with beautiful 16th, 17th and 18th century furniture. The picturesque outbuildings, with their beautiful original roof timbers, also evoke the small family and rural estate of yesteryear, and house a small Sologne museum. The English-style park, with its century-old trees and varied species, exudes serenity. Also worth seeing: an exhibition of religious art from the 19th and 20th centuries, with an interesting collection of 250 holy clams, and an original henhouse with a variety of amusing gallinaceous birds, sure to delight children. In the store, you'll find a wide range of local produce, with picnic baskets available on request to take away or enjoy on site or in the park. If you want to escape the crowds, come to Troussay, which offers both a haven of grace and peace and original artistic interest, as well as bed and breakfast accommodation in the château or gîte in the outbuildings of this exceptional site.

A découvrir absolument

Accueil chaleureux
