These natural caves offer an 800 m geological walk beneath the very heart of the town, almost at the foot of the castle. Their history is linked to that of the town itself: known since Neolithic times, they were used as quarries in the Middle Ages, sheltered the inhabitants during the great fire of 1723, and served as mushroom beds and ammunition depots. The tour ends with a sound and light show. A true geological and aesthetic curiosity. And to make your visit as fun as possible, we recommend a treasure hunt for younger visitors!

Seules grottes de géodes maritimes au monde accessibles au public, c’est une très belle expérience. Nous apprenons de nombreuses informations. Il y a de beaux spécimen de fossiles, que désormais vous pourriez identifier dans certaines pierres de châteaux de la vallée des rois. Nous recommandons cette visite, en invitant les intéressés à respecter les consignes de sécurité. Il s’agit de ne pas se blesser bêtement avec du silex. Par ailleurs, pour des raisons évidentes, il convient de ne pas emporter des « souvenirs ». Cela s’appelle du vol. ce n’est pas non plus respectueux pour les autres visiteurs, qui ne pourront plus rien voir, ou dans des conditions moins agréables. Et oui, malheureusement, nous avons pu regretter de constater que certains s’autorisaient à prendre des géodes, des pierres. Excellent guide.

Superbe plongée dans les entrailles de la terre, au dessus de nos têtes sont enchâssées les géodes marines. Cet endroit exceptionnel au niveau géologique a été fréquenté dès la préhistoire. Dès l'entrée ne pas manquer la limite KT vestige des traces de la collision du météorite qui a provoqué le cratère de Chicxulub entrainant la fin des dinosaures

Exceptional guided tour recounting the History of our planet from the time of the dinausores today. More sound and light at the end of the visist but caves changant colour (total lighting) to appreciate the work of water on the stone).
Natural caves limestone dug by rainwater (karst).
We selective children for the treasures (4 and 7 years) and we were happy to leave with part of the treasure of the pirates of the caves
