SAINT-LUBIN CHURCH
Read moreNo doubt, Voves is one of the leaders of the Beauce region! To confirm, wheats are forged on the monumental door of the church of the commune erected at the end of the th century. This is one of the peculiarities of this building, which is in the middle of the village. Other remarkable elements: the visible visible when entering the church. As a representative of the characters of the Bible, it offers superb colours on the nave which is to the choir and the wooden columns that stretch behind the altar. In the lateral chapel, a large fresco representing Christ attracts the visitor's eye.

CHURCH OF SAINTE-MADELEINE
Read moreCharacterized by its flat chevet, this church is under the patronage of Sainte Madeleine, represented seven times in this remarkable stained glass program. The majority was carried out by the Lobin workshop of Tours - between 1860 and 1878. This ensemble presents a large unit of style. The number of glass panes and stained glass windows is quite considerable and, of course, everyone has a history. Visit this church with the President of the Association of Friends of the Church of Sainte-Madeleine: specialist in religious heritage, he makes this walk between alcoves and chapels absolutely exciting! He décryptera every window, including the one so called "Japanese", which is deemed to be unparalleled so far, but also mural paintings, including an ex-voto reminiscent of an epidemic of plague. In one of the chapels, a burial urn contains the heart of the painter Anne-Louis Girodet (to whom the city also devoted a museum, currently in work), while the great christ is the model carved by Triqueti, for his christ of the Invalides. The spire of the bell was restored by a pupil of Violet the Duke. The church has undergone an important internal and external work campaign to bring it back to its ancient splendour.
SAN MARTIN CHURCH
Read moreThe Saint Martin Church in Prissac has enjoyed a complete renovation. It's a modest building, two neves. The bell tower dates from the twelfth century, but most of the church was rebuilt in the fifteenth century. It has beautiful wall paintings from the end of the Middle Ages. There is the representation of Saint Catherine, a martyr of Saint Andrew and one of Saint Sebastian. In the chapel, the «Say of the Three Dead and Three Vifs» is staged, near the representation of the four evangelists. Parts are missing, but a leaflet is available in the church and the site provides very complete explanations. In statute, one notes a saint Martin in wood and a saint Radegonde stone.
SAN MARTIN CHURCH
Read moreBuilt in the thirteenth century, then restored and enlarged at the end of the xve and early sixteenth century, this church dedicated to Saint Martin de Tours has unsuspected riches. In addition to its richly decorated nef, the impressive building has a set of fine, polychrome statues for many of them. The church also displays epitaphes of the late sixteenth century as well as paintings painted somewhat singular where pastel is referred to. The retable of the sixteenth century evoking a Tomb and a Virgin of Pity of the seventeenth century are upsetting, and these carved woods question whether or they are not neophyte. Good example of a hidden richness of this enchanting Sologne.

ST. LAWRENCE COLLEGE
Read moreIt is necessary to climb a little to reach this splendid Romanesque church built in the 11th and 12th centuries. You will discover a magnificent polychrome sculpture of characters and animals from the bestiary of the Middle Ages as well as two pyramids, called "dubes". These, as well as the Romanesque portal and the stained glass windows, have just been restored. The Collegiate Church contains the tomb of Agnes Sorel and possibly that of Ludovico Sforza, patron of Leonardo da Vinci. After archaeological excavations in 2019 and 2021, DNA research should confirm the probabilities (90%).
